At Busy Bees, we assure the very best nutrition for your child by providing the appropriate ‘fuel' for his/her development. This ensures a variety of different nutrients and tastes, which will help to educate your child's palate. We encourage good healthy eating practices that can last a lifetime. We believe in providing highly nutritious, good quality meals, not only for your child's health and physical wellbeing, but also to develop their social skills and encourage interaction with the children in their group.

  • We prepare all our meals on-site in our purpose-built, Health Board-approved kitchen area that is inaccessible to the children.
  • We follow the Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) food safety program.
  • Our menu is balanced, varied and changed each week.
  • We strive to use fresh produce as much as we possibly can and our menus do not include junk food.
  • We use only ingredients of the highest quality and make every effort to ensure low sodium and low sugar content.
  • Our menus follow the food pyramid, which is the definitive guide to ensuring your child gets all their daily nutritional needs.
  • The drinks offered during the day are milk and/or water.
  • We fully supervise all snacks and mealtimes.
  • We provide a safe, positive and cheerful environment where your child can enjoy their food in an unhurried fashion.
  • Vegetarian and Special dietary requirements are catered for and understood by all staff.
  • We recognise that eating habits are formed early and so we are very careful about nutrition. Whether it is an allergic reaction, attitudes towards eating, or weight concerns, we try to be thoughtful in ways we approach providing food to the children while in Busy Bees.
