Baby Care

For children, Montessori is a happy place for exploring and finding out new things every day. For parents, Montessori should be a place that focuses on learning, yet never forgets the importance of fun. A great Montessori encourages development but never pushes your child to grow up too fast. Montessori lessons will take place for three hours every morning and will be complimented by a full programme of physical, social, language, emotional and imaginative play for the rest of the day.

The Montessori Curriculum is a purpose designed programme which uses activities as provoking learning aids to isolate specific qualities. The child learns with ease in a relaxed, orderly environment. The toys and materials used by a Busy Bee’s Montessori child are of the very best quality to call forth self-respect, respect and care from the child toward the environment, and the development of an appreciation of beauty.

Each child will participate in dramas that all parents are invited along to watch. Off-site trips and outings will take place to allow us to introduce each child to further stimulating environments, such as the zoo, pet farm and puppet theatre etc. that will be part of the topic programme and will offer visual and sensorial reinforcement of classroom lessons.

“The Montessori Method” for Children’s Early Learning & Development

Maria Montessori (1870 – 1952)
Maria Montessori (1870-1952) saw the value of self-initiated activity under adult guidance. However, she placed importance on learning about real life and therefore on constructive play materials which supported sensory discrimination in order to further children’s early learning and holistic development. She believed that learning is a continuum between refinement of the senses and broadening of intellectual, emotional, social functioning. Montessori education asserted that children have ‘absorbent minds’, sensitivity to order and hunger for knowledge of their real world. Montessori advocated that the learning environment should be carefully planned to meet children’s individual needs by providing them with the optimum opportunities to work independently, to make choices, decisions and solve problems, to engage in real experiences and to experience success.

Montessori Education in Busy Bees Childcare
A prepared Montessori environment facilitates enjoyable challenging activities where children grasp complex ideas through multi-sensory, self-correcting materials. Our appropriately trained Montessori teacher presents materials in a sequential manner at the level of the individual child; these are graded from simple to complex. The curriculum fosters learning goals around areas of interest and personal challenge. Practical Life exercises develop gross and fine motor skills, concentration and responsibility in independently chosen activities. Sensorial exercises focus on sensorial discrimination. Social and individual responsibility, dignity and respect is encouraged. Language development occurs through discussion on cultural topics, animals, wild life and the use of the phonetic method.
