Busy Bees was founded as a family business in August 1990 with a vision to provide exceptional childcare in a loving environment, with a unique "Home from Home" atmosphere. Busy Bees has expanded over the years enabling us to provide and maintain the highest standards of care & education. We have a purpose built facility to cater (full time and part time) for children aged 3 months to 8 years. We continue to strive to ensure that your child feels safe, secure, loved and most importantly that they have fun.

Childcare today is not a choice of convenience or location; it's about quality, consistency and peace of mind for you and your child. Busy Bees believes in hiring the most educated, professional, caring and qualified staff the industry has to offer. Through our Curriculum/Programmes, your child will develop physical, intellectual, language, emotional, spiritual & social skills (P.I.L.E.S.S.). Our philosophy appropriate curriculum will allow your child to grow at his/her own pace. We believe that it is in their play that children show their intelligence at the highest level of which they are capable. Child-directed play opens up new possibilities in thinking and develops the emotional intelligence that makes feelings manageable. It helps a sense of self and relationships with others to deepen.

Our Philosophy

Busy Bees is a stimulating and caring environment designed to promote social, emotional, cognitive, physical and language development. We provide a variety of learning experiences that encourage a positive self-image and a joy in the learning process. We respect each child as an individual with unique qualities of personality, intelligence, and creativity. Our highly trained and educated staff have set up an environment that is clean, fun, creative and most importantly "child centered". We feel an open line of communication between the centre and our families is how we build a strong relationship. Our goal at Busy Bees is to provide the best possible care and overall rewarding experience for your child.

 

A word from the Queen Bee

Having worked in St. Vincent’s Hospital as a nurse and clinical teacher for many years I found that when my third child was born it was extremely difficult to find suitable professional, dependable and reliable childcare. Crèches in those days were few and far between, so I decided to study childcare and business management.

When I completed my course in 1990, I left St. Vincent’s hospital and set up Busy Bees.

The “Hive” has seen many changes and upgrading during its time. We moved into our new premises in September 2005.

I always wanted to maintain a homely atmosphere, where the children and parents felt part of a “Big Family”. Having worked in an Accident & Emergency Department, a School of Nursing and being a mother myself, It has equipped me with the knowledge and the skills I needed to deal with the care and education of both the children and their parents.

It is wonderful to see some of the children including my own, graduate from college and feel that in some way we contributed to their success. Indeed my own four daughters have on several occasions arrived home with fine tall young men who tell me that they were once a baby “Busy Bee”! .

In these changing times I still enjoy the challenge of keeping up with changes which allow our children to develop into confident, happy, and independent little “Bees”.
